Imagexcel — Video Game Developer and Publisher

Imagexcel was a Canadian development studio active from at least the early 1980s and is regarded as one of the predecessors of Rockstar Toronto. In 1994 it developed the vehicular action game Quarantine, published by GameTek. In March 1995, GameTek acquired Imagexcel’s assets through a newly created subsidiary, Alternative Reality Technologies. Through later acquisitions and reorganizations, the team eventually became part of Take-Two and Rockstar and evolved into Rockstar Toronto.
